Nigerian singer Wizkid who is set to perform in Kampala on December 3, completed a hat trick, winning Artiste of Year, Best Male Artiste and Best Collabo for Soweto Baby (with South Africa’s DJ Mariphosa and DJ Bucks) at the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMAs) that were held on Saturday night in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Yemi Alade who co-hosted the show with South African TV personality Bonang Matheba and also performed, went away with the Best Female Artiste gong.
East Africa was represented by Kenya’s Sauti Sol who were named Best Group.
Uganda’s nominees, Eddy Kenzo, Bebe Cool and Sheebah went away empty handed.
