People of Kiwatule, Naalya, Kira, Najjera and Namugongo brace yourselves for something new and entertaining near you! Star comedian Anne Kansiime last week launched a new comedy show at her Kubby’s bar and restaurant in Naalya, located adjacent to Quality Mall.

Dubbed ‘Kubby’s Open Mic,’ the new show is not your average comedy show. According to Kansiime, the show is majorly aimed at providing a platform for upcoming or little known comedians to prove their worth.

“Actually, the show is for everyone who feels they are funny; all one needs to do, is to come and register and offload their funny side!” she told us.The show that is slated for Mondays will be hosted by Kansiime herself.

We’ve also heard that Kansiime hopes to turn the show into a big TV production in future; “She hopes to televise the show after getting enough content for a number of episodes,” a source told us.

Kansiime was however quick to remind us that this comedy night will have no effect of her role as a Fun Factory member. “This is just a small thing; I am still part of Fun Factory and will always be at National Theatre every Thursday, as long as I am around,” she said.
