Following Juliana Kanyomozi’s successful concert at the Kampala Serena Hotel on August 19, 2022, a big section of fans demanded that another legendary female singer, Iryn Namubiru, should also hold a concert.

Demand no more, as the singer, whom some of you might have thought was phasing out of the music business, announced concert dates on Thursday.

In the video making rounds on social media, Iryn said, “The wait is over.” The long-awaited concert, which will be organized by Swangz Avenue, is slated for July 26, but details of the venue are yet to be disclosed.

The announcement has attracted massive excitement online.

“This one is a MUST attend, my greatest female artist of all time,” Anko Owen commented.

@Starboy_Wilber said, “Serena is not big enough. We take the concert to Nakivubo.”

“Wow, the long-awaited moment is here, let’s be there,” @JamesTurugurwa added.

For starters, Iryn was one of the best female musicians in Uganda between 2006 and 2012. During her time, she won awards, the biggest of all being the Artiste of the Year award at the Pearl of Africa Music Awards in 2011.

After 2012, the singer disappeared from the music scene; she was rare at events, and her songs barely got airplay.

However, she still holds her place as a celebrated artist, hence why many are excited about her upcoming concert.
