In the heart of Jinja City, a vibrant nucleus of activity has taken over as music enthusiasts revel in the Nyege Nyege festival, Africa’s grandest and lengthiest party marathon.

Friday saw the festival hit its stride, as thousands of revellers flocked to the scenic Jinja Golf Club. Following a slow yet promising start on Thursday, the second day came alive, bringing the festival’s unique energy to life.

Across the expansive festival grounds, seven stages buzzed with activity, each offering its own distinct musical vibe. These stages embodied the essence of Nyege Nyege — a dazzling fusion of global music and culture.

At the main stage, host Sheila Salta kept the momentum high, hyping up the audience and introducing a dynamic lineup of performers. Their electrifying acts captivated the growing crowd, ensuring that no one was left standing still.

For those craving an otherworldly musical experience, the ‘Dark Star’ stage delivered in spades. International acts like DJ Crusatsex from France, Asep Nayak from Indonesia, and Tanzania’s DJ Travella turned the stage into a sonic wonderland.

Meanwhile, the UBL Red Card tent offered a tranquil retreat for festivalgoers seeking a more relaxed vibe. It wasn’t just about enjoying drinks — the space became a hub for meaningful conversations on responsible drinking. Guests also engaged in fun activities like karaoke and trivia games, with lucky winners walking away with prizes.

On the other hand, the Uganda Waragi tent was all about energy and rhythm. DJs curated a mix of Ugandan and East African hits that had attendees dancing nonstop.

For a more intimate experience, the Hang Out stage blended soulful hip hop and R&B tracks with the playful hum of video games.

As the festival gears up for Day Three, revellers eagerly anticipate another round of extraordinary performances and unforgettable memories.
