Over the weekend, multitudes gathered at Jinja Golf Club to celebrate the Uganda Waragi Nyege Nyege Music Festival. The four-day music fiesta, which ran from Thursday afternoon through Sunday evening, brought together people from all walks of life in what has come to be known as East Africa’s biggest music festival.

For many, the festival was a time to make memories and catch up with long-lost friends, while others made new connections and proudly shared their experiences.

From reggae, R&B, and hip-hop to oldies, Afro-pop, and Afro-fusion, all genres of music were represented.

From day one to day four, revelers were entertained nonstop and left looking forward to more. At the end of the festival, many vowed to return next year for another fun-filled experience.

Throughout the festival, the Uganda Waragi tent was the epitome of energy and rhythm, as DJs ensured there was no room for attendees to sit still or search for vibes elsewhere.

Despite the abundance of entertainment, Uganda Breweries Limited dedicated a full tent to promoting responsible drinking. Hundreds of free bottles of water were available at this tent, and attendees were frequently seen picking up bottles to follow the advocated practice of spacing alcoholic drinks with water.

Meanwhile, the main stage was action-packed on Saturday, with highlights including performances from Kenneth Mugabi, Pia Pounds, Elijah Kitaka, and Ssuuna Ben.

From the music to the lively atmosphere, Jinja truly came alive.
