What was meant to be a media briefing, turned into a mini-concert, as songstress Sheebah Karungi aka Queen Karma, officially announced ‘The Return of the Queen’ concert, scheduled for Friday, August 22nd, at the Kampala Serena Victoria Hall.

The Addis Hall at Kampala Serena Hotel felt like a preview of the energy and excitement that awaits revellers on D-day. It was no ordinary media briefing, as Sheeba’s fans, known as the ‘Sheebaholics’ filled up the room, and kept cheering on wildly.

Artists including Kataleya and Kandle, Yung Mulo, and Kabako, as well as event sponsors- I&M Bank, addressed the media before Sheebah’s grand entrance. But it was Kabako that got the crowd hyped, when he sampled Sitani Tonkema, a collabo he features Sheebah and Fik Fameica.

Event host- media personality Sandra Lian equally did the event justice with her stage antics.

Then came the long-awaited moment; clad in a silky maroon outfit, sitting comfortably and confidently on a white and gold queen’s chair, Sheebah made her way amidst wild cheers and a mini fireworks display.

She stirred up the room by sampling her latest release- Somebody, sending the audience into a frenzy.

“Thank you all for turning up in big numbers, I don’t take this for granted. I’m equally as excited as you are, and I can’t wait to vibe with you all at the concert,” Sheebah said, adding, “Me and my team are putting in the work to ensure you have a great time.”

Sheebah shares a photo moment with her fans after the press conference.

Known for her bold, empowering persona, and her genre-blending style that fuses dancehall, afrobeat, and Ugandan pop music, Sheebah is expected to put up a show for the books.

I&M Bank, the official banking partner of the concert, has over the past months built a reputation for being part of the cultural pulse of the community, through consistently supporting platforms that celebrate creativity, diversity, and local talent.

“At I&M Bank, we’re passionate about partnering with experiences that enrich our customers’ lives, by giving them an opportunity to unwind and take a break from their busy schedules. Such occasions also offer us perfect opportunities to share lively moments with our customers outside the banking hall,” said Racheal Kulanyi, the Communications and Outreach Officer at I&M Bank.

The other partners of the event are Juba Express, MTN Momo, Afro Mobile, Victoria University, Trisha Safaris, Fenon Events, and Capital Radio.

Early bird tickets to the show are on sale at Shs 150k, while a table of eight goes for Shs 8 million.
