Jose Chameleone has officially expanded his footprint beyond music with the launch of Chameleone FM in Bujumbura, Burundi.
The move follows his recent high-profile visit to Burundi, where he attended a major event at the invitation of President Évariste Ndayishimiye.
During that visit, Chameleone openly spoke about his desire to invest in the country’s media and entertainment sector, describing it as a way to deepen cultural and creative links between Uganda and Burundi.
For a long time, the Leone Island boss had hinted at plans to own a radio station, an idea he frequently mentioned in interviews but never brought to life. Many fans and industry watchers had come to see the ambition as an unrealised dream.
Chameleone FM marks the realisation of a commitment he personally made to President Ndayishimiye during his December 2025 visit. Beyond being a personal milestone, the station is positioned as a serious investment in Burundi’s evolving media space.
The singer confirmed the launch through his social media platforms, where the announcement was warmly received.
Fans across the region, especially in Burundi where Chameleone has enjoyed enduring popularity, welcomed the news with excitement.
