Kabalagala turned into a party hub on Saturday as Smirnoff brought its Fiesta experience to Garden Light Cafe on Ggaba Road during the Kampala International University (KIU) Freshers Ball.

The event brought together KIU students and other revellers for an evening of music, dancing, games and Smirnoff drinks as the freshers marked the beginning of a new semester.

The party started early, with guests taking photos, participating in games and sampling different Smirnoff flavours before the music took centre stage.

Smirnoff Brand Manager Raymond Karama said the Kabalagala event was designed to give students an opportunity to unwind and celebrate the new semester.

“We brought a flavourful lineup of drinks and DJs to give that perfect semester icebreaker with Smirnoff Ice and Ggaba Road has been great. Looking forward to what comes next,” Karama said.

MC Ursh Trey got the crowd going before Ri Deejay and City Girl took over the decks, keeping the music flowing as the night progressed.

Viana Indi added to the excitement with a dance challenge that saw revellers show off their best moves, while DJ Alisha kept the crowd dancing with a mix of Amapiano and Afrobeat hits.

Dreadlazer later took the audience through a selection of popular hits from different generations before Wiz J brought the performances to a close alongside MC Saint Trevor.
The Kabalagala event marked another stop on the Smirnoff Fiesta tour, which is continuing with university-themed parties across Uganda this month.

The next events are scheduled for UCU Mukono at The John’s Hostel on 8 October, followed by a party at University Inn in Mbarara on 10 October for students from Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST).
The tour will conclude with a Halloween-themed Fiesta at Servite Hostel in Kyambogo on 31 October.
