The organizers of the renowned Nyege Nyege International Music and Arts Festival in Uganda have expressed their discontent towards the organizers of a similar event in Kenya, which they dubbed the Nyege Nyege Kenyan Edition.

Taking to their official Twitter account, the Ugandan organizers tweeted, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. After ‘Nyege Nyege Dubai,’ now ‘Nyege Kenya’? We are thrilled to witness the enthusiasm of fans for the original NN23 in Uganda, with significant enhancements that have greatly improved previous editions. Dates and a new location on the Nile will be announced in the coming days.”

However, the Kenyan organizers countered the claim in a press statement, asserting that their government had sanctioned a certified Kenyan music and arts festival, marking its inaugural edition.
