Capital FM has today launched its famous promotion, ‘The Big Wedding,’ which will again see another couple win a fully paid wedding. This is the eighth edition running, and starting today, interested couples are invited to apply by providing reasons why they should be considered.

Speaking at the launch of The Big Wedding S8 at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Jackson Mungoma, the CEO of Capital FM Uganda, said the event, which started in 2013 before being paused during COVID, celebrates humanity and is intended to inspire the wedded couples to tell their stories to the world and also inspire those who are planning to get married.

Regarding the roadmap of the event, Capital Radio’s Sales Manager, Ronald Muhereza, stated that couples submitting their stories must only provide truthful information about their love lives. Additionally, a two-minute video must also be attached. The deadline for submission is October 13.

Qualification will be based on the listeners’ votes. Ten couples will then qualify for the next stage. The second round of voting will commence to pick the top five finalists. The final round of voting will take place between October 25 and October 27, with the winning couple announced on October 28.

On November 19, the Kasiki event for the winning couple will be held, with the Big Wedding taking place at Speke Resort Munyonyo on November 22. Rwanda Air will then fly the couple to Dubai for their honeymoon.

The event has several sponsors, including Speke Resort Munyonyo, the host of the wedding; Rwanda Air; Uganda Breweries Limited; Hair by Zziwa; and Plascon, among others.
