Every third Saturday of the month of May is the World Whisky Day.

It’s a global celebration of heritage, craftsmanship, and culture, honouring one of the world’s most iconic and revered spirits.

On Saturday, May 17, Uganda Breweries Ltd, leading with their single malt whisky brand- The Singleton, will be commemorating the World Whisky Day in signature style.

The whisky brand will be hosting an immersive fine dining experience at Hiro Restaurant in Kololo, kicking off a three-month journey of indulgence through a campaign dubbed “Savour the Single Moments.”

The event will offer guests an exclusive taste of Singleton whisky pairings with a curated culinary menu, showcasing perfectly balanced flavours of the single malt and variety of food textures in an evening designed to ignite the senses.

This is the first of a series of premium gastronomic experiences, set to take place at top-tier restaurants across Kampala from May to July.

“World Whisky Day invites people around the globe to raise a glass and celebrate the water of life. It’s aspirational and elevates appreciation for quality and craft. And in true Singleton fashion, the brand is making sure that whisky isn’t just sipped, but savoured, especially when paired thoughtfully with gourmet dishes,” said Christine Kyokunda, Brand Manager, The Singleton UBL.

Through the ‘Savour the Single Moments’ campaign, The Singleton is inviting people who love such gastronomical experiences, to indulge in a burst of flavours, delicious treats, and new ways of enjoying meals.

“Fine dining in this context is about intention, craft, and connection. It’s about chefs designing menus that bring out the nuance of a meal. It’s about discovering how a rich Singleton 12 pairs with a spiced duck breast, or how Singleton 15 enhances a citrus-glazed salmon,” Kyokunda added.

This campaign will introduce foodies, whisky lovers, and curious connoisseurs, to the magic that happens when flavour meets fine dining.

Over the next few months, foodies and whisky connoisseurs will meet incredible chefs, the unsung heroes behind the kitchen, and shine a spotlight on their talent and creativity.

Each gastronomic experience will follow a unique theme, reflecting different moods and moments. Guests can expect an evolving story of food and whisky that keeps the experience fresh and exciting.
