Revelers are in for a blend of sport, music and lifestyle this Saturday, April 25th as Matchday 4 of the Guinness-powered Mwiri League returns to Legends Grounds, Lugogo, with cricket action and an electrifying Afropiano-themed entertainment lineup.
The fourth outing of the league will shine a spotlight on cricket, a sport deeply rooted in the legacy of Busoga College Mwiri, one of Uganda’s most respected cricket hubs over the years. As alumni return to the crease to rekindle old rivalries and showcase their batting and bowling prowess, fans can expect an action-packed day both on and off the field.
Defending cricket champions Buliti Cohort, who emerged winners in last season’s cricket competition, will be among the hosts of the day alongside Ruga Ruga, Lukambwe and Vuyos United.
Cricket fans should brace for an action-packed outing featuring thrilling clashes as Kombora, Suici, Vuyos, Makaya, Kanga, Shadow, Destroyers, Lukambwe, Winter, Divers, among others battle for supremacy.
Off the pitch, the event will full of vibes with a star-studded entertainment package under the theme “Afropiano Vibes”, promising nonstop music, dance and celebration.
Ugandan music sensation Spice Diana will headline the performances, bringing her energetic stage presence and a catalogue of fan-favorite hits such as Siri Regular, Onsanula, and Kwata Wano.
In a social media message ahead of the outing, Spice Diana promised fans nothing short of an electrifying performance. The celebrated singer said she is ready to bring her very best to the experience.
She will be joined by Matereo Music, while the renowned Sakata Band will usher in the main show with a lively live-band performance.
Hosting duties will be handled by the vibrant Olga Dax, alongside legendary hype man and Busoga College Mwiri old boy MC Kats, who is expected to bring his trademark energy and ensure there is never a dull moment.
On the decks, top selector DJ Pius has promised to shut down the house with nonstop fire. He’s joined by a lineup of other top DJs set to keep revelers on their feet throughout the day.
Speaking ahead of the event, Guinness Brand Manager- Denise Nazzinda said the brand remains committed to elevating the Mwiri League experience by blending sport, culture and premium lifestyle experiences.
“The return of the Mwiri League has once again created a unique platform for connection, celebration and unforgettable experiences. At Guinness, we are proud to be part of this journey, bringing together sport, entertainment and lifestyle in a way that resonates with our consumers. I believe matchday 4 will be bigger and better as we continue to elevate the festivities and create memorable moments for everyone attending,” Nazzinda said.
