The Tusker Lite Neon Raves are heading to Password Lounge, Gulu, with auditions set for May 9, as the platform continues its nationwide search for Uganda’s most exciting dance crews.
After high-energy showcases in Hoima, Masaka, Mbarara and Arua, the Neon Raves now shift focus to the Northern Uganda capital, where Gulu’s vibrant youth culture and strong creative scene are expected to deliver another memorable edition.

Known for its lively entertainment spaces, thriving nightlife and deep appreciation for music and dance, Gulu offers the perfect stage for the next chapter of the Neon Raves. The city has, over the years, grown into one of Uganda’s strongest cultural hubs outside Kampala, with young creatives using dance, music and performance as powerful forms of self-expression.
The auditions on May 9 will bring together dance crews from Gulu and surrounding districts, all competing for a place in the regional finale. Participants are expected to showcase a range of styles, from Afro-fusion and hip-hop to amapiano-inspired choreography and traditional dance influences that reflect the region’s cultural identity.

If you have been an avid follower of music on TikTok, definitely you have seen some outstanding talents and sounds the region is leaning to. Songs such as Akisa Fortune’s Meg Wa to Doggy Kizz’s Ajolo Rwot, are proof that Gulu is on a path, curving its own culture and sound.
Since its launch earlier this year, the Tusker Lite Neon Raves has become more than just a dance competition. It has evolved into a youth culture platform that blends nightlife, performance and community, giving emerging talent visibility while creating unforgettable entertainment experiences.

The previous edition in Arua came with a lot of standout, from the always engaged audience to the diverse styles the dancers brought to the floor. Each city has however, brought its own unique personality, and expectations are high that Gulu will do the same.
Beyond the competition, the auditions will also serve as a social and cultural gathering, bringing together dancers, music lovers and nightlife enthusiasts in a celebration of creativity and movement.
Speaking ahead of the Gulu auditions, Sandra Againe, the Tusker Lite Brand Manager said, “Gulu has a strong creative spirit and an incredible energy that makes it the perfect home for the next Neon Raves edition. We know the city has amazing dance talent, and we are excited to see crews bring their originality, passion and performance to the stage. Neon Raves is about giving young people a platform to express themselves and be seen.”

For the dancers, the auditions represent more than a shot at victory. They are an opportunity to represent their communities, gain national attention and become part of a growing movement that celebrates Uganda’s evolving dance culture.
As May 9 approaches, Gulu is preparing for more than just an audition night, it is preparing for a cultural moment where rhythm, identity and youthful energy will take over the stage.
