Ugandan gospel singer and philanthropist Benard Feni, popularly known as Mungu Feni, has added another international accolade to his growing list of achievements after being named International Artist of the Year at the Prestigious Personalities Awards 2026.

The awards ceremony, organised by Feleb Concepts Multimedia (World Credibility Office), was held on 14 June 2026 in Accra, Ghana, and recognised individuals who have demonstrated excellence, leadership, dedication and a lasting impact in their respective fields.

While announcing the award, the organisers praised Mungu Feni for his consistency, influence and commitment to excellence, saying his work continues to inspire people and drive positive change.

“Your hard work, consistency, influence and commitment to excellence have distinguished you as a worthy recipient of the Prestigious Personalities Awards. Through your vision, service and positive impact on society, you continue to inspire generations and contribute immensely to growth, empowerment and transformation within your industry and beyond,” the organisers said.

They added that the honour recognises his outstanding achievements and unwavering pursuit of excellence.

Speaking after receiving the award, Mungu Feni dedicated the recognition to his fans across the world, describing the achievement as a dream come true.

“To all my fans around the world, this award belongs to you as much as it belongs to me. Every stream, every share, every ticket purchased, every message of encouragement and every prayer has helped make this moment possible. Thank you for believing in my journey and standing with me through every challenge and every victory,” he said.

The singer said the award is not the end of his journey but a motivation to keep raising the bar.

“This is not the finish line. It inspires me to work even harder, create even better music and continue representing our culture and our people on the global stage,” he added.

The latest recognition comes only weeks after Mungu Feni was crowned Best New Star Gospel Artist at the Shining Stars Africa Awards 2025/2026, held in Rwanda, further cementing his status as one of Uganda’s fastest-rising gospel musicians.

Despite spending only three years in the music industry, Mungu Feni has quickly built a reputation that stretches far beyond Uganda. His music has reached audiences across Africa and other parts of the world through major digital streaming platforms, where he has accumulated more than three million streams.

His songs continue to perform strongly on platforms including Spotify, YouTube, Shazam, Audiomack, Boomplay, SoundCloud, Tubidy and Song Boost Uganda. His music also enjoys regular airplay on international television and radio stations such as Trace Gospel, Trace Mziki, Trace Naija, Trace FM, Trace Muzika, TBN Africa, Face Music and Pearl Magic.

Born in Arua in Uganda’s West Nile region, Mungu Feni has attracted a rapidly expanding international audience. His unique sound has become so popular outside Uganda that many listeners often mistake him for a West African artist.

His international success is particularly remarkable because he has achieved global recognition without staging a major public concert, highlighting the power of digital music platforms in building an international fan base.

Away from music, Mungu Feni is an entrepreneur and founder of Euro Gold, while also leading several community development initiatives through the Mungu Feni Foundation, a non-governmental organisation based in West Nile.

The foundation has earned regional recognition for its work in empowering young people and supporting vulnerable communities. It was named Best Community Transformation Organisation in East Africa at the East Africa Brand Quality Awards and also received multiple honours at the West Nile Quality Brand Awards 2025, including the Quality Excellence Award – Platinum, Best Community Development NGO and Best Local NGO.
