The third round of the 2026 I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series is scheduled for this Saturday, August 8, at Entebbe Club, with organisers expecting a full field for one of the most anticipated outings on the local golfing calendar.
This edition will be played under the ‘Tee For Me’ format, a pairs competition reserved exclusively for same-gender teams. Both players tee off on every hole before exchanging balls for the second shot and continuing with that ball until it is holed, creating a unique test of teamwork, communication and strategy.
According to Katogo Captain Elly Kibuka Mukasa, the format is returning due to overwhelmingly positive feedback from previous editions.
Golfers enjoyed this format because it demanded genuine teamwork and strategic thinking on every hole. We therefore expect a highly interactive and competitive outing both on and off the course this weekend.
Adding to the excitement, one lucky golfer stands a chance to drive away in a brand-new Mitsubishi Outlander, through a hole-in-one challenge sponsored by Victoria Motors.
Away from the course, the popular 19th hole experience will be hosted by ‘usual suspect’ comedian Patrick Idringi Salvador.
The evening will take on a White Affair theme, with participants expected to observe an all-white dress code.
Annette Nakiyaga, the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at I&M Bank, said the bank remains committed to creating memorable experiences that go beyond golf and deepen engagement among participants.
“Together with our partners, we continue to innovate and elevate every edition of the series. Each event is designed to deliver a unique experience, ensuring golfers enjoy not only the competition on the course but also a vibrant social experience afterwards.
She noted that previous editions have featured distinctive themes, including a football-themed second round where golfers watched the UEFA Champions League final on a giant HD screen, transforming the 19th Hole into a dynamic entertainment experience.
This time round, we’re going all white. We had this theme last year when we hosted the second regional leg in Kigali, and it was beautiful,” she said.
Winners of the week-long quizzes will receive bottles of Johnnie Walker Gold Reserve during the 19th hole festivities.
The 2026 I&M Bank Katogo Golf Series is supported by Johnnie Walker, Victoria Motors, GA Insurance, RwandAir, Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa, Kampala Serena Hotel, Fenon Events, Goldman’s Luxury, NBS Sport, Case Hospital and Time Cop Security.
