The Ruparelia Group is set to open Paradise Island Resort, a 19-acre private island retreat on Lake Victoria, on 1 December 2026, adding a new luxury tourism destination to Uganda’s hospitality industry.
Located about 20 minutes by speedboat from Speke Resort Munyonyo, the resort has been developed as an eco-friendly destination, with all its operations powered by solar energy.
The island has 38 accommodation units designed to cater for different types of visitors, including couples, families and corporate groups.
These include standard cottages, cliff-hanger cottages, two-bedroom deluxe cottages and executive villas, offering guests a range of accommodation options depending on their needs.
Beyond accommodation, Paradise Island Resort will also cater for conferences, corporate retreats, weddings and private functions. Its facilities are intended to accommodate both business gatherings and social events, allowing guests to combine leisure with other activities during their stay.
The resort’s location on Lake Victoria is central to its appeal, offering visitors an opportunity to enjoy an island getaway away from the busy city environment while remaining a short boat ride from Kampala.
Sustainability is another key feature of the development. The 19-acre property operates entirely on solar power, making renewable energy central to its day-to-day operations.
With its combination of island accommodation, event facilities and environmentally conscious operations, Paradise Island Resort is positioning itself as a new option for holidaymakers, families and businesses looking for a luxury getaway on Lake Victoria.
The resort is expected to officially open to visitors on 1 December 2026.
