PHOTOS: Boxing Champion Deontay Wilder attends Bobi Wine’s documentary premiere in Beverly Hills

American Boxing Champion Deontay Wilder is among the hundreds of guests that attended Bobi Wine real name Robert Kyagulanyi,’s premiere of his documentary, “Bobi Wine: The People’s President,” at the Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts in Beverly Hills last night.

Wilder held the WBC heavyweight title from 2015 to 2020, making 10 successful defenses. By winning the title, Wilder became the first American world heavyweight champion since 2007, which was the longest period of time in boxing history without an American heavyweight champion.

Meanwhile, Bobi Wine graced the event accompanied by his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi and their children, all dressed in African attire. Before the documentary screening, he and Nubian Li performed a series of revolutionary songs for the attendees.

Directed by Moses Bwayo and Christopher Sharp, the documentary captures Bobi Wine’s journey from humble his upbringing in the Kamwokya slum to stardom, showcasing his transformation into an influential figure in the world of active politics.

The film portrays the inspiring tale of a young boy defying all odds to become a celebrated artist and political leader.

It also highlights the pressing governance challenges faced by Uganda and Bobi Wine’s unwavering determination to lead the nation towards a brighter future.

The documentary has already garnered critical acclaim, receiving two awards at the Millenium Documentary Film Festival in Brussels, Belgium.

It earned both the Audience Prize and the Bronze Goal for Best Film on Human Rights, solidifying its impact and recognition in the world of filmmaking.
