Social media user @Princeviterlis has narrated his experience regarding a new trick being used by boda boda riders to steal money from their clients.

According to his account, he hired a boda boda from Cairo Bank along Kampala Road to transport him to deliver documents to Wandegeya.

Upon arrival at the destination, he handed a 10000 note to the boda rider, who in turn gave him a balance of Shs4000, and they parted ways.

However, shortly after, the boda rider confronted him, claiming that he had given him a fake note. The man insisted that he had withdrawn the note from the bank.

“The guy became loud and violent as I tried to explain to him that I was sure my money was genuine. At this point, he was mobilizing other boda boda riders to attack me. They also threatened to call the police,” reads part of the narration.

Reportedly advised by a colleague to pay the rider using other notes, he handed over Shs6000. He expressed confusion as to why the bank would issue him fake notes. They requested the fake note from the rider to return it to the bank, but he refused, pocketing it safely before riding off.

“After the incident, a security guard approached us and said that this was the second incident he had witnessed on that very day,” he says.

Readers, please be aware of this new trick!
