As Executive Director of Research, his work focused on macroeconomic and financial policies as well as statistics.

In 2008, he took up an assignment with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as Deputy Director of the African Department (AFR), where he played a key role in enhancing the effectiveness of capacity development, modernizing monetary policy frameworks in developing countries, and improving macroeconomic statistics in sub-Saharan Africa.

He left the position in 2020 when he was appointed Deputy Governor of the Bank of Uganda, a role he has held until today, when he was named the central bank’s top executive.
