Singer Jose Chameleon is back in the press for failure to honour contractual obligations, after years of being on good behaviour. Chameleone is accused by a South African promoter Zaina Muwonge of Sezana Promotions of causing her losses of more than Shs53m after he failed to show up for shows twice.

Zaina alleges to have paid Chameleone a whopping Shs25m in 2015, as a performance fee for three shows in Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban. Zaina says that she went ahead and paid another Shs12m that was meant to cater for air tickets for Chameleone and his crew.

However, towards the day of the event, Chameleone switched off his phones and was unreachable until the date passed. Zaina however says that she had a discussion with Chamelone and after apologising, he asked her to get new dates and re-organise all over again. But after she did, Chameleone still did not show up and after this Zaina is said to have tried to get in touch with Chameleone to refund haer money but in vain. It’s against that background that Zaina decided to drag Chameleone to court demanding he pays Shs53m! A Leone Island source told us Chameleone was due to hold talks with Zaina.
