In 2018, socialite Nasser Nduhukire alias Don Nasser who hails from Sheema District in Western Uganda appeared out of nowhere and took over the social scene with his swanky rides, and splashing cash in town.
The popularly known money spender who used to sleep at Speke Apartments, one of the most luxurious and expensive suites in town is apparently ‘drowning in debts’.
Matooke Republic has been doing some digging and discovered some shocking information in regard to Don Nasser.
Things are not good at all for the flashy socialite as most of his expensive cars were allegedly confiscated by money lenders and word has it that they are now eyeing his mansion in Kiira.
According to our source, Nasser’s prized Rolls Royce was seized by a city moneylender only identified as Hajji Abbasi after the socialite failed to pay a loan of Shs300,000,000.
It is also alleged that after the Rolls Royce was seized, another moneylender whom Nasser owes money also seized his sleek Range Rover Vogue (private registration number plate ‘NASSER 2’).
Another trusted source who is a friend to Nasser informed us that the Range Rover was taken after Nasser failed to clear another loan.
Our source also revealed that Nasser acquired most of the loans in 2018 when he was arrested over allegations of conning billions of shillings in gold scams.
It’s believed that he spent a lot of money on security operatives to cover up his tracks from Interpol and paying lawyers to ensure that his case file is expeditiously handled, which helped him get released from jail sooner than he had expected.
He has however never fully cleared the moneylenders, which prompted them to start looking out for some of his properties in a bid to auction them and recover their monies.
Background
Nasser was arrested in 2018 over allegations of swindling over Shs5.5 billion from an American identified as Johnny Hill, whom he sold fake gold.
It is said that Johnny flew to Uganda with Interpol officials in a bid to recover part of the money he lost in the 75Kg gold deal worth billions, after Nasser failed to deliver on his promise.
The 75 Kg of raw gold was valued at $1.5m (about Shs5.5billion then), but matters worsened for Nasser after another complainant, a businesswoman based in Dubai, accused him of having allegedly fleeced $5Million (about Shs18 billion), which he also had to refund.
Nasser’s flashy and flambouyant lifestyle drew a lot of attention on social media and different media houses as many were wondering where he gets his money from.
