Gospel singer Desire Luzinda has spoken about how she maintains trust and peace in her long-distance marriage with fellow gospel singer Levixone, saying they constantly reassure each other despite living in different countries.
During an interview with Spark TV, Desire said the distance had not given her any reason to doubt her husband, explaining that their relationship is built on love, trust and regular communication.
She said reassuring Levixone about her love and commitment has become a regular part of their conversations, sometimes through jokes and at other times during serious discussions.
“I keep telling him every day. We always talk about it; jokingly and seriously. It is a song on our lips all the time and I always tell him this as a reassurance to him,” she said.
Desire added that she does not need to have her husband physically around her all the time to feel secure in their marriage. She said the trust they share allows her to enjoy the relationship without constantly worrying about their separation.
“He has never given me any reason to doubt him. We are in a long-distance marriage but I’m the most peaceful person on earth in my marriage,” she said.
Desire and Levixone married last year but had little time to enjoy their honeymoon, as they returned to work less than two weeks after their wedding.
Despite their busy schedules and living in different countries, the couple makes time to see each other whenever possible. Levixone is based in Uganda, while Desire lives in the United States, meaning their reunions often involve travelling between the two countries.
