Photos of singer Eddy Kenzo accompanying his wife, the Minister of State for Energy and Mineral Development, Phiona Nyamutoro, on an oil site visit in Buliisa District, have been circulating on social media, sparking a wave of humorous reactions.

Kenzo shared the photos on his social media platforms, captioning them, “The Chief Operations Officer of UNOC, Samantha Muhwezi, invited me and my wife on a progress tour of the Tilenga Project in Buliisa. It was a great opportunity to gain more knowledge and understand the progress of our oil and gas sector.”

One social media user quickly pointed out that Kenzo was not “invited” but rather accompanied his wife, as she is the minister in the sector.

Another reminded Kenzo of his official role as Presidential Advisor on Creatives.

One user joked, “Nowadays, it’s women who take men places. If you’re still dating someone who asks for transport money, ‘watomela’—I’m not sure Kenzo knew he’d become a fully qualified engineer by October 30, 2024, without a single academic paper!”

Another commenter humorously suggested that the caption wasn’t written by Kenzo himself but rather by Nyamutoro.

The Chief Operations Officer UNOC, Samantha Muhwezi invited me with my wife on a progress tour of the Tilenga Project in Buliisa.

I was impressed by the origin of the name TILENGA a combination of Luo and Lunyoro words meaning a Kob, the most common animal in the area.
