Renowned comedienne Anne Kansiime has finally addressed her split from baby daddy, Skylanta, revealing that their relationship ended long before they made it public.

Kansiime first hinted at the breakup last month when she shared a cryptic quote about embracing change and focusing on herself.

However, in a recent candid revelation, she disclosed that their separation actually took place nearly two years ago.

She explained that motherhood shifted her perspective on love and relationships. Before welcoming their son, Selassie, Kansiime and Skylanta shared a passionate connection. But after becoming a mother, her priorities changed, and so did her expectations from her partner.

“The dynamic of our relationship changed when I had our son,” Kansiime admitted. “I started expecting more from him—things I never asked for before. I wanted to be everything for our child, but I also wanted a partner who was equally invested in that journey. The kind of love I needed transformed, and it became clear that we were no longer aligned.”

Despite the breakup, Kansiime said that their focus remains on co-parenting peacefully. Both she and Skylanta have given each other the freedom to move on and date other people when the time feels right.

“We have made peace with our situation. Our priority is raising our son together, and we’re doing that in harmony,” she shared. “He’s free to date whoever he wants, and so am I. We just haven’t had the chance yet.”

Reflecting on the emotional toll of their separation, Kansiime admitted that it was a painful process.

“It was tough. We went through a heartbreaking phase, but we’ve come out stronger. If you watched our reality show, you probably noticed that we weren’t always together—we were already navigating life separately,” she said. “There were hurt feelings, but with time, we’ve come to understand and accept it.”
