Singer and Worship House lead pastor Wilson Bugembe has revealed that many people wrongly assume pastors make no personal sacrifices for their ministries, yet they often contribute a great deal behind the scenes.

Speaking during an interview on NTV’s The Beat, Bugembe shared a touching story about how he sold his mansion in Kiwatule to help his church buy land for parking space.

He revealed that the church urgently needed Shs1 billion, prompting him to sell his house for Shs700 million to raise part of the money.

“That house was my dream home, built from the success of my music career,” Bugembe said. “I painfully sold it and gave the Shs700 million to the church.”

He further explained that the funds were still not enough, so the church had to take out a loan of Shs300 million to meet the total cost.

Bugembe admitted that the decision to sell his house was deeply painful, but singer Gravity Omutujju helped him through the emotional turmoil.

“Gravity found me lost in thought after I had sold my house. He told me, ‘The Kabaka or the President may never visit your home, but they can visit your church. You did this for God, so don’t be sad or regretful.’ In that moment, he truly helped heal my heart,” Bugembe added.
