Rising Ugandan singer Namugonza Maureen Peace, alias Ava Peace, has addressed accusations of engaging in prostitution and relying on multiple men to fund her ‘lavish’ lifestyle.

The singer addressed the allegations during a recent performance, as she dismissed the talk as baseless and a product of envy.

“People start talking the moment they see you succeeding or making more money,” she said. “I’m currently one of the most booked female artistes in Uganda—and that’s through nothing but hard work.”

She went on to explain that her busy schedule leaves little room for anything else.

“I haven’t even had proper sleep lately. I’m always on the move, performing from Monday to Monday,” she noted.

“While some people are busy talking, I’m out there working and making my own money.”

Though she declined to reveal how much she earns, Ava Peace was confident about her financial independence.

“I won’t go into figures, but I’m a rich woman, and it’s all my own money,” she said.
