Uganda’s gospel music scene is abuzz after renowned singer Levixone real name Sam Lucas Lubyogo and Desire Luzinda—now known by her Christian name Racheal—announced that they will wed on August 15, 2025.

The revelation came during a Sunday service at Phaneroo Ministries International in Kampala, where the couple made their first official church announcement. The congregation erupted with cheers, turning the service into an impromptu celebration.

For years, speculation about their relationship dominated entertainment circles and social media. Yet, the pair kept their romance private until Levixone proposed over the weekend. He shared a video of the candle-lit proposal, captioning:

“For so many years, I kept this close to my heart. I prayed for purpose, and God gave me the love of my life. He was writing a story I couldn’t see—full of grace, joy, and quiet miracles. My best friend said ‘YES’—my answered prayer, my forever, the Woman of God.”

Luzinda echoed the sentiment on Instagram, reflecting on her journey from heartbreak to faith:

“There were moments I thought love had passed me by… but God had a greater plan. He healed my heart, renewed my faith, and brought me the right person at the right time—a man after God’s own heart. I can’t wait to build a God-driven marriage with the best man of God, @levixone. Love truly wins when it starts with Him.”

Once a prominent figure in Uganda’s entertainment tabloids, Luzinda left secular music, relocated to the U.S., and embraced ministry work, focusing on gospel music and her foundation that supports vulnerable teenage girls.

Levixone, who rose from humble beginnings in Kosovo, a Kampala suburb, to become one of Uganda’s leading gospel artists, is known for hits like Chikibombe, Turn the Replay, and Samanya.
