Although Uganda has not yet registered any Coronavirus infection, the Ministry of Health continues to caution the general public to stay vigilant, practice personal hygiene like washing hands with soap regularly, avoid crowded places and any forms of contact.

In line of the above, meetings, conferences, weddings among others are discouraged, and the same has been decided for the Uganda-Friendship Week that was scheduled to run from March 21 -28, 2020. It has now been postponed to the week of the French Independence Day starting from July 14, 2020, and if the Coronavirus situation is still dangerous by then, The Week will be held in November, this year.

A lot of activities had been lined up for the would-be fourth edition of the Friendship Week like music performances from Zouk band Kassav and football that would draw in crowds. This has been done as a precaution, so The Week has been postponed to a later date.
