UMC Victoria Hospital has achieved a major milestone with the successful delivery of healthy twin babies; the first IVF twin birth since the launch of its IVF and Fertility Department. This landmark achievement coincides with the department’s first anniversary and reflects the hospital’s commitment to advanced reproductive medicine, compassionate maternity care, and patient-centered clinical excellence.

The parents, referred to as Mr. Moses and Sarah (names changed to protect confidentiality), experienced a long and emotionally challenging journey toward parenthood. Before approaching UMC Victoria Hospital, the couple had consulted several fertility centers where a clear path to success could not be guaranteed, and in some cases, surrogacy was presented as the primary option.

Seeking renewed hope and expert guidance, the couple turned to the IVF and Fertility Department at UMC Victoria Hospital. Following a comprehensive evaluation and detailed counseling, the medical team developed a structured and personalized treatment plan tailored to their needs. Throughout the process, the couple received continuous support, with a strong focus on clinical excellence, emotional reassurance, transparency, and informed decision-making.

Commenting on the milestone, Dr. Ramin Matin, Gynecologist and IVF Specialist, noted that the success is particularly meaningful as it coincides with the first anniversary of the IVF and Fertility Department. He emphasized that individualized assessment and ethical fertility care are critical to achieving positive outcomes in reproductive medicine.

The case was managed under the leadership of Dr. Ramin Matin and Dr. Mugdha Prasnis, supported by a multidisciplinary team of fertility specialists, embryologists, anesthetists, neonatologists, and dedicated nursing professionals—ensuring seamless care from conception through childbirth.

Comprehensive Fertility & Maternity Care

UMC Victoria Hospital’s IVF and Fertility Department offers a full spectrum of reproductive and maternity services, including fertility assessments, IVF and ICSI treatments, antenatal care, delivery services, and neonatal support. This integrated approach ensures continuity of care at every stage of the fertility and maternity journey.
