Just like in Bobi Wine’s ‘Corona alert’ song, ‘the sad news is everybody is a potential victim but the good news is everybody is a potential solution,’ news reaching us indicates that Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda has gone into self-isolation after some of his contacts tested positive for COVID-19.

“Friends, I have gone into self-isolation after some of my contacts tested positive for COVID19. My own test result is negative, however, I have taken this decision as a health recommended measure,” said Rugunda in a tweet.

The Ministry of Health has today confirmed 35 new COVID-19 cases taking the total confirmed cases in Uganda to 557. 15 cases are among samples taken from Points of Entry while 20 cases are among samples of alerts and contacts.

This 1997 image was created during an investigation into an outbreak of monkeypox, which took place in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), formerly Zaire, and depicts the palms of a patient with a case of monkey pox in Lodja, a town in the Katako-Kombe health zone, DRC. It is important to note how similar this maculopapular rash looks to the smallpox rash, also an orthopoxvirus.
