69 years ago, in the quiet village of Katwe, Kabatoro in Kasese District, a baby boy was born — one who would one day rise to become Uganda’s wealthiest man and one of its most influential business leaders. That boy was Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, now a billionaire entrepreneur and philanthropist whose vast empire spans real estate, hospitality, education, media, and floriculture.

Despite his extraordinary success, Sudhir has never forgotten his humble beginnings and has made a major donation to a local children’s hospital through the Ruparelia Foundation, reaffirming his lifelong commitment to improving lives across Uganda.

The donation included modern hospital beds and medical equipment that have significantly elevated the standard of paediatric care in the rural region. For families in Katwe and surrounding communities, these contributions represent more than new beds — they symbolize hope, dignity, and better chances of survival for sick children.

Speaking about the gesture, representatives from the hospital praised Sudhir’s benevolence, noting that the improvements have already enhanced patient comfort and staff efficiency. “Children are now treated in safer, cleaner, and more comfortable conditions. It’s a dream come true for our community.”

Through the Ruparelia Foundation, Sudhir and his family have consistently invested in initiatives that uplift Ugandans. The Foundation has made major contributions to healthcare, education, and wildlife conservation. From supporting schools and scholarships to donating medical equipment and championing wildlife protection, the Foundation’s impact continues to be felt across the country.
