A Harare-based Lesotho prophet is facing criticism from his followers after making a false prediction about the outcome of the World Cup final on Sunday.
Christ Celebration International Ministries prophet Tinashe Michael Sello advised his followers to back France in the match.
Prophet Sello, also known as “The Ultimate,” is heard telling his followers in a video that Argentina would play a defensive game but that France would break through and score before parking the bus to win the championship.
He suggested that France would beat Argentina 1-0 to win the World Cup.
According to reports, Prophet Sello shut down his church on Monday as a result of his embarrassingly inaccurate prediction.
Additionally, it has been reported that a number of his followers are now threatening to leave his church.
