Tooro Princess Ruth Komuntale’s ex-husband Christopher “Duke” Thomas is admitted to Mulago Hospital’s private wing, recovering from injuries sustained in a hit and run on Saturday morning.
“For all those who have been wondering what happened to Chris. Chris was knocked by a hit and run car. But now his condition is promising we are at Mulago hospital room7 ward 6(c) thank u for your prayers,” read a statement on his Facebook page.
Police says that the American national, Thomas, 33, was hit at about 2am on Saturday morning as he returned from a friend’s bar where he had been watching a soccer game and drinking.
Thomas narrated after regaining consciousness that he was crossing Entebbe Road in Kibuye as he went back to his home in Lubowa when he was hit by a car that sped off.
Thomas’s right arm was fractured and he also sustained bruises on his back and head.
The American who returned to Kampala to deal in his Duke lip gloss brand was admitted in the hospital’s casualty unity but later transferred to Ward 2B when a doctor identified him and he was transferred to the hospital’s private wing on Sunday morning when friends came to his rescue.
“He can now talk and he can recognise people, he will be well,” a friend said. His family in the US has also been contacted.
