sevo6 copyPresident Yoweri Museveni apparently celebrated his 71st birthday today.  According to the Presidential Press Secretary Lindah Nabusayi Wamboka, the president spent his b-day morning with the community at Mount Zion Prayer Centre, Bukalango, in Nadangira Parish Wakiso District.

But instead of blowing a cake with 71 candles, it was duty as usual as he flew out of the country to Sudan to meet President Omar Al-Bashir on a two-day official visit.

The subject of the president’s age is a very interesting topic. For long, Museveni said he wasn’t sure when he was born and one time he said his daughters had chosen for him a birthday.

Last year a group of opposition youths, the Uganda Young Democrats “celebrated” Museveni’s 77th birthday.

At his official age of 71, Museveni is eligible to contest in the forthcoming presidential elections, but in case he wins, he will be serving his last term as the constitution currently states that the maximum age of a presidential aspirant is 75 and he will be 76 then.
