Two witch doctors in Bugiri arrested for failing to turn peasant to tycoon

The gods must be crazy! Police in Bugiri yesterday arrested two witch doctors suspected to be con-men on grounds of fraud. The two, Benard Kalaali and Steven Basooma all residents of Bugiri District allegedly defrauded over Shs4m from Nnyanama resident Faraj Wanzige. 

While appearing on Bukedde TV’S news “Agataliko Nfunfu”,  Wanzige said “I approached those guys at their shrine hoping that they would make me wealthy. They tasked me to give them shs. Shs4m and assured me that the rest the gods would take care of. They promised to make me a big tycoon”

Excited by the prospect of getting rich overnight, Wanzige, acquired a loan of Shs150,000 from a friend and topped up with his personal savings to make it Shs4m which they had requested. 

“After paying them off, I waited for the period they had assured me to acquire wealth but I saw nothing happening” he complained.



Wanzige decided to approach these arrested suspects so that they can tell him what went wrong. Probably the gods were up to something else like printing more money for him! However, he was in for a shocker!

“They again asked me to bring the head of my mother to complete the rituals but I refused to kill” he confessed.

Wanzige abandoned the gods and witch doctors and ran to police to help him recover the little he had.

Police arrested the duo.  Nnyanama police confirmed that the arrested suspects will be taken to court to be charged with fraud and threatening violence.
