The participating teams are pooled in eight groups with each with five teams. The best two teams in each group will qualify for the round of 16, a knock out stage. The overall winner after the finals will automatically represent Uganda at regional level which is due on Match 4th in Tanzania.

Last year the Cipla Quality Chemicals were crowned champions and  represented Uganda at the regional level though it did not make it to Anfield for the finals. Our neighbours Kenya are the tournament reigning champions worldwide after they beat Indonesia on finals.

It was first launched in Uganda in 2010
