Little Hands Go Green “Environment Children’s Competition” excites Rwanda

Ahead of the 2017 World Earth day,  Rwanda Little hands go green  set up “Environment Children’s Competition” at Excella School on Saturday 25th March 2017 to discuss cause of climate change.

The competition started at 2pm giving children from different primary schools the platform to share their views  on the environment and how to stop the climate change threat.

Three schools  participated. At the end of the competition, the children planted 15 fruit trees and started a green orchard at Excella School, the hosts of the competition.

​​​​The best presenter  won a fully paid trip to the International Children’s Climate Change conference in Uganda that will take place on World Earth Day April 22nd at Kampala International School Uganda.

Niyoyita Hardi, 11year-old from Mother Mary School emerged winner.

The winner will lead delegation of eleven from from three of Rwanda’s top primary schools; Mother Mary, Little Bears Montessori  and Hope academy. The Children will be accompanied by patrons from the schools as well as officials from Rwanda’s Little Hands Go Green, REMA, parents and Q sourcing Rwanda. 

Little hands go green is on a campaign to trek across Uganda and Rwanda with a legion of children who are taking it upon themselves to plant at least a fruit tree per child.
