Controversial Makerere University lecturer Dr. Stella Nyanzi is in court  for the first bail application hearing. Nyanzi has been on remand at Luzira Prison for the  last two weeks.

Yesterday the Criminal division of High court recalled Nyanzi’s case file from Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s court following an appeal by her lawyer Isaac Kimaze Semakadde. Kimaze claimed that the Buganda Road court chief magistrate James Ereemye Mawanda had a coalition  with the state to frustrate his client’s bail application hearing.
