Col Atwooki Ndahura, the jailed former director of police crime intelligence, is awaiting his sentenced after pleading guilty to charges of interfering with the process of the law before the Military Disciplinary Court sitting at Mbuya.

Col. Ndahura was last week on Friday presented before the Unit Disciplinary Committee chaired by  Col. Tom Kabuye in a session closed to both media and members of the public.

According to the charge sheet and UDC proceedings presented before High Court Judge, Musa Sekaana, on Monday by the State Attorney Genevieve Kampiire, Col. Nduhura is said to have fabricated evidence in form of a document containing a list of Rwandese refugees while  justifying their kidnap and deportation.

Six other police officers including Nixon Agasirwe are before the General Court-martial for similar charges.

The charge sheet further states that Col. Nduhura committed the offence between February and March 2018, while at the  Police Crime Intelligence headquarters in Kampala.

According to the UPDF Act, a person convicted of such an offence is liable to imprisonment not exceeding seven years.

Justice Sekaana had last week on Thursday ordered the Attorney General to produce Col. Ndahura before his court today but instead State Attorney Kampiire presented a copy of proceedings of the UDC proceedings indicating that Col.Nduhura pleaded guilty to the offence last Friday and was remanded to Makindye Military police barracks until July 13 when his sentence will be read.

Col. Nduhura is among the 26 security personnel whose arrest and detention coincided with that of the former police chief Gen. Kale Kayihura.
