The Baganda have it that the rain that whoops a poor man never stops. This is true for Ugandans at the moment.

As they still licking their tears over the social media and mobile money taxes, fuel prices have hit Shs4,000.

This comes after a tax of Shs100 on diesel and petrol took effect on Sunday.

Currently, fuel prices are at Shs4,340 a litre of petrol and Shs3,940 for diesel.

As a result, transport prices for public transport will also go up. This according to Aziz Kiirya, the secretary general of the boda-boda and taxis association, is the only solution.
