IMBALU: Uhuru Kenyatta, Museveni to witness 6,000 circumcisions

Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta, will on August 11, grace the Bamasaba Cultural Grounds in Mutoto, Mbale for the launch of the Imbalu season.

The highly decorated ceremony on which over 6,000 boys will lose their foreskin as they transition into adulthood will also feature President Yoweri Museveni.

“We have gotten confirmation from the Kenyan government that President Kenyatta will be joining his Ugandan counterpart and witness boys being initiated into manhood,” Mathias Nabutele, the event coordinator in Inzu Yamasaba said. 

The two leaders the will also launch the Bamasaba cross-border cultural centre which is under construction at Mutoto sub-county in Mbale.

He said that event was supposed to be launched on July 4, but it was extended to August 11 to give Kenyatta the opportunity to attend in person.
