Bobi Wine is not a hooligan, he is fighting for the common man — Ex-VP Gilbert Bukenya

Former Vice-President, Gilbert Bukenya was dismissed allegations by some government officials who describe Kyadondo East MP Kyagulanyi Robert aka Bobi Wine as a hooligan.

While speaking to BBS TV, he stated that the detained MP will only get more popular if the government continues to hold him.

“Everytime you torture someone who is in politics, you only make him more popular”, he stated.

When asked about Bobi Wine’s method of politics, he dismissed claims that he is violent.

“Bobi Wine is not a muyaye (hooligan). He is representing the voices of the local people, he explained.

The MP who was reportedly tortured is expected to be produced before Court Martial, Gulu on Thursday.

He is charged with two accounts of possession of illegal firearms.
