Shalom Namagembe, the daughter of opposition leader Bobi Wine and his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi, has achieved a new academic milestone after qualifying as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) in the United States.
Shalom announced that she successfully completed all the requirements set by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), earning the nationally recognised healthcare credential on 26 June 2026.
According to her certification, the credential will remain valid until 26 June 2028.

The qualification authorises Shalom to work as a certified phlebotomy technician in a wide range of healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, diagnostic laboratories, blood banks and other medical facilities that provide blood collection services.
Phlebotomy technicians play a vital role in healthcare by collecting blood samples used for medical testing, blood transfusions, donations and scientific research.
In addition to drawing blood, they are trained to verify patients’ identities, prepare and label specimens for laboratory analysis, follow strict infection prevention and safety procedures, and ensure patients remain calm and comfortable throughout the process.
