Following reports that the police spokesperson Emilian Kayima and Internal Affairs Minister, Gen. Jeje Odongo were chased by mourners at fallen policeman ASP Muhammad Kirumira’s funeral.

Kayima has since rubbished the allegations saying that he was running from the rain, not mourners are the media reported.

A video shot at Mpambire in Mpigi district where Kirumira was laid to rest appeared to show the spokesman being rushed away to safety in a waiting police pick-up truck with mourners shouting at him and throwing stones.

The distaste in the mourners are believed to have been fueled by Kayima’s earlier comments on the former colleagues where he described Kirumira’s conduct at court was “unprofessional and regrettable.”

Kirumira who was battling several charges including using excessive power was shot by unknown gunmen travelling on motorcycles in Bulenga near his home as he returned from a local function.
