Stella Nyanzi is in trouble yet again over use of Facebook! The Makerere University researcher could face life imprisonment if convicted of allegedly alarming, annoying and ridiculing the person of the president contrary to Section 24 of the Penal Code Act.

A poem posted on Stella Nyanzi’s Facebook page on September 16 – a day after President Museveni’s birthday was laced with vulgarity and seemingly targeted president’s late mother Esteri Kokundeka.

Despite the criticism the poem attracted, Stella followed the post with other two posts on September 18 and 19.

In the posts, Stella Nyanzi called on Esteri to take her son to the afterlife because he’s looting and murdering Ugandans. She ‘asked’ Esteri to stop looking on as her son wrecks havoc.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (CID) has opened a general inquiry file. The case is under investigation.
