Hajji Abubaker Kawooya, the father of slain former Buyende District Police Commander, Muhammad Kirumira, shocked mourners when defended Kale Kayihura against allegations of his son’s murder.

Kawooya was addressing the congregation at Kirumira’s funeral rites in Mpambire, Mpigi district when he refuted claims that the police – especially the former police boss was involved in the killing of his son.

“Kirumira’s killers were not the police, not the army and not Gen. Kayihura,” he said.

He is now seeking audience with President Yoweri Museveni to present to him certain facts about the murder of his son.

“I have a secret that I will only tell the President personally. You terrorists will not intimidate me not to meet him. You’re terrorists like the Boko Haram,” he added.

Kirumira was shot dead by assailants moving on a boda-boda in Bulenga on his way home from a traditional ceremony. He was driving with a one Resty Nalinya who was also killed.

Only one suspect has so far been produced in Court in connection with the murder.
