Matooke Republic has learnt that a lady American tourist was yesterday afternoon abducted from Queen Elizabeth Park, by armed men who are asking for a ransom of $500,000 –approximately 1.85billion shillings.

According to a statement released by the Uganda Media Centre, the tourist was abducted by four armed men who are yet to be identified.

Reportedly the armed men staged an ambush and kidnapped the tourist and his Ugandan driver near Katoke Gate inside Queen Elizabeth National park. There were other tourists in the vicinity, who the abductors didn’t harm. Apparently these other tourists were griped with fear when they learnt of what happened next to them, so they contacted  the base lodge and assistance was quickly dispatched to safely get them out of danger.
