Teacher arrested for sodomizing a pupil for one year

23-year-old Igga Sudais Alais Kagame a teacher at Maato Muslim primary school in Kyanju, Ntugamo District has been arrested by Rwizi police on allegations of assaulting and sodomizing a 15-year old male pupil of the school.

According to police, the suspect started sexually abusing the victim in February last year until of late in May this year when the victim’s stepmother Nimwesiga Mackline reported the case to police. The victim told police that Kagame had threatened to kill him if he reported the matter.

 “The victim was subjected to medical examination on PF3 and its appendix whose results confirmed penetration and rapture of the anus,” Police said.

 “We call upon more victims if any to come forward and record their statements with the police,” Police added as they encouraged more parents, guardians, victims to always report such crimes to the Police.

Police also said that there is need to educate and raise awareness amongst pupils and students on sexual crimes including acts of “grooming “.
