You might not always like or agree to whatever comes out of his mouth but it seems President Yoweri Museveni still has confidence and trust in Ofwono Opondo

The Chairman of the National Resistance Movement on Monday re-appointed Opondo to continue heading the Uganda Media Centre (UMC) for another three years.

The government spokesman and spin doctor could not hide his excitement about the recent developments in the ruling party echelons rushing to Twitter to share the news.

“President Museveni has extended my contract of service for a further three-year period effective today July 1st, 2019. It is with great gratitude to continue to serve the President, the Government and Citizens of Uganda,” OO as he is affectionately called tweeted.

The former journalist and deputy spokesperson of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has been in the position since 2013 when he replaced Fred Opolot. This is Opondo’s third contract and it will expire in 2022.
