Earlier this week at the burial of Frank Gashumba’s father Colonel Antonio Kasumba in Villa Maria village, Kalungu district, Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata, spit venom asking the National Resistance Movement (NRM) bush war general to stop telling Ugandans how they fought for them.
“Who sent you to the bush?” Muzaata asked.
“This government should stop threatening Ugandans that they fought; this is our country we don’t have anywhere to go. Those who fought, fought for their stomachs because no Ugandan sent them to bush to fight for us,” he said.
Appearing in an interview on NBS Television, bush war general and Security Minister Gen. Elly Tumwine responded to the “Who asked you to go to the bush?” question.
“I hear people asking, ‘Who asked you to go to the bush?’ We sent ourselves there,” Gen. Tumwine said.
“We were conscious and aware of the great cause and the results have been seen,” he stated before citing that the current generation is the great beneficially of the peace they brought.
Gen. Tumwine urged Ugandans not to concentrate on the negativity because there are many good things they can focus on.
“I want to ask Ugandans, who do you trust? The people who are always looking at the wrong side of things or those who have been tested and have been responsible for improving this country’s security?” he asked.
